Arrival – Upon arrival you will receive traditional Marwari welcome like a prince or princess. After breakfast, start over from mighty Mehrangarh fort and Jaswant Thada.
Mehrangarh Fort :- The imposing fort lying on hilltop welcomes you to Jodhpur. The twisted lanes in the city reach to the fort. Mehrangarh is thick walled structure overlooking city from a height of 120 meters. It covers area of about 5 km. Beautiful carvings and extensive courtyards excite tourists. Enter the fort through seven gates; each of them is differently decorated and imprinted with the name of king who built it and in which year. Mehrangarh also has a museum where all the aged royal stuff is displayed.
Jaswant Thada :- It is located on left of Mehrangarh. This intricately carved marble cenotaph is an architectural marvel built in 1899 by Maharaja Sardar Singh in remembrance of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Two more tombs are built within it. The main cenotaph is built like temple and displays portraits of former rulers of Jodhpur. Royal crematorium lies besides the tombs.
The Nai Sarak is the main market where you find many good hotels to enjoy lunch. After having lunch, take roadway to Guda village. Get closer to nature in jeep safari. Through the jungle get sight of Black Bucks.
Umaid Bhawan Palace :- Also known as City Palace. It is one of the world’s largest private residences of royal family which have 347 rooms in total. A part of it is converted into hotel which is managed by Taj Group of Hotels. The museum there exhibits great collection of memorabilia.
Kaylana Lake:- Kaylana Lake is an artificial lake built by Pratap Singh in 1872. It is located 8 kms west from center and spreads in 84 square meter area. The lake receives water from Hathi Nehar (Elephant canal) and supplies water to entire Jodhpur. Visitor can enjoy boating and watching migratory birds like Siberian cranes.
Osian :- After lunch proceed to Osian village which is about 60 kms from Jodhpur. The place is famous for its temples. The architectural splendor of Sun god temple, Harihara temple, complex of small shrines at Goddess Sacchayee Mata temple and Raja Utpaldev constructed Mahavir Jain temple is worth watching.
Mandore:- On your way back to Jodhpur stop at Mandore garden. The garden, temple, an exhibition area and remains of past arouse interest in this historic place. Mandore garden is prominent place for recreation. After all journey, we will take you to hotel for night stay & next morning arrange conveyance for your way back to your home.
